According to numerous studies, the body can absorb up to 90 grams of carbohydrates per hour during exercise. The Maurten brand took this finding as a starting point to work on the absorption efficiency of sports nutrition products. And so Drink Mix 320 was born! When mixed with 500ml of water, it contains 80 grams of carbohydrates and a high concentration of fructose and maltodextrin. It is based on hydrogel technology, which means that it immediately transforms into a gel thanks to the acidity of the stomach. The hydrogel gently transports the drink from the stomach to the intestine, where water, salt and carbohydrates are absorbed. The high carbohydrate concentration of this drink and its rapid assimilation thanks to hydrogel technology make it a suitable replacement for bars and other gels that are commonly consumed. Hydrogel technology improves digestion and reduces gastric problems during exercise. The drink has a neutral taste (slightly sweet).

Directions for use:

Mix the contents of one sachet of Drink Mix 160 with 500 ml of water. Be precise, as the functionality depends on the mixture. The drink is designed to be mixed with water containing <40 mg/L of calcium, otherwise it may be more difficult to dissolve. During your outing, it is important to remember to shake your bottle from time to time to ensure a homogeneous mixture. The product can be consumed before, during and after exercise. Maurten drink should be consumed on its own; do not add syrup for flavour, as this will compromise the technology and assimilation capacity of the drink (breaking the carbohydrate chain). Super effective energy drink, I used it on the Paris-Brest Paris 2023, no cramps, no fatigue and provides good energy; however, the packet is meant for 500 ml, I diluted it with 750 ml and it was still way too sweet, so on long rides like PBP it becomes sickening and undrinkable; it's a shame!
