Maurten Gel 100 40g liquid energy gel

Traditional gels consist of water and carbohydrates mixed with syrups and flavourings. The Maurten Gel 100 is completely different. It is a biopolymer blend that allows you to absorb more carbohydrates per hour!

Designed using hydrogel technology, it has a liquid base that gels on contact with the stomach’s acidity. The nutrients are then transported more quickly to the intestine, where they are better absorbed. This technology helps minimise stomach problems during exercise.

Studies have shown that the body can absorb up to 900 grams of carbohydrates per hour during exercise. Researchers have recently demonstrated that a fructose-to-glucose ratio of 0.8:1 enables the body to absorb an even greater amount.
Gel 100 has been developed based on this ratio and contains 25 grams of carbohydrates per 40-gram sachet (i.e. 60% carbohydrates). It contains 6 natural ingredients. It has a neutral, slightly sweet taste.

Directions for use:

Maurten Gel 100 can be used before, during or after exercise. On long rides, several gels can be consumed. This product can be used on its own or combined with other Maurten products for optimal energy and hydration.

In hot weather, the liquid gel may thicken slightly; this does not affect its nutritional value or effectiveness in any way.
