The main obstacle to effective sports nutrition is the factor limiting the utilisation rate of exogenous carbohydrates during exercise: the transport of nutrients across the intestinal wall. Once the sodium-dependent transporter, used to transport maltodextrin, has reached saturation at 60 g/h, additional carbohydrates can be absorbed via another transporter, GLUT5, used to transport fructose. This assimilation process is perfectly managed by the Sis Beta Fuel drink.

Fuel requirements for long-duration endurance sports (over 2.5 hours) are 60 to 90g of carbohydrates per hour. The ability to deliver such high levels of carbohydrates whilst minimising the risk of gastrointestinal issues is crucial for maintaining performance. Sis Beta Fuel can be used to meet these fuel requirements in an isotonic solution.
