The frame and fork assembly is 146 grams lighter thanks to a combination of new carbon layering and manufacturing techniques.

With the experience gained from studies conducted for the Y1Rs, Colnago has refined the design of the V5Rs with slim, high-performance profiles. The frame has a reduced frontal area, with a slimmer head tube and seat tube, to reduce air resistance and save watts. However, the Colnago V5Rs SDM5 does not compromise on stiffness and responsiveness in order to meet the demands of professional riders such as Tadej Pogacar. In addition to the new fork profile, this bike also features a more modern geometry for a more aggressive riding position. This bike also adopts the BSA bottom bracket standard, a choice dictated by the stiffness of the frame, which allows for a less oversized and therefore lighter bottom bracket.Building on this high-quality base, the Colnago V5Rs SDM5 UAE is equipped with the Shimano Ultegra Di2 groupset, which offers precise and fast gear changes, as well as high-performance disc brakes in all conditions.
