Shimano Ultegra DI2 12V R8170 hydraulic left lever with flat mount brake caliper

The Shimano R8170 lever offers high-end ergonomics and adjustment options. Firstly, it uses wireless technology to connect to the derailleur. This results in a cleaner cockpit. If you feel the need, a wired connection is also possible. Secondly, you can customise the lever travel for a better braking feel. It is more progressive and easier to modulate. In an emergency, you always have the full power of disc braking.

The handle is slightly larger to suit all body types. It is also oriented inwards to facilitate access to the levers with your hands at the bottom of the handlebars. You have the option of connecting a sprinter-type satellite button (in the hollow of the handlebar) or a climber-type button (at the top of the handlebar).

The caliper is more compact, with 10% more spacing for the disc and increased quietness. The bleeding system is also easier to use and therefore accessible to a wider audience. The J-Kit system allows for quick installation, although bleeding is always recommended after installation. The hose is reference SM-BH90-JK-SSR, the caliper has two pistons and a standard Flat Mount position. The caliper weighs 136 grams (manufacturer's specification).
