The Shimano BR8100 front caliper features SLR-EV dual pivot technology in addition to its Direct Mount standard attachment. You get more powerful and stable braking than with a single pivot version. Direct Mount technology is characterised by direct attachment to the frame stay with two bolts. The caliper is then integrated with the frame and offers more power. Shimano claims a 36% increase in performance compared to the previous generation of brakes.
