The Shimano BR8100 front brake caliper features SLR-EV dual-pivot technology in addition to its Direct Mount attachment. This provides more effective braking power and stability than a single-pivot version. Direct Mount technology is characterised by direct attachment to the frame’s seatstay via two bolts. The caliper is therefore integrated with the frame and offers greater power. Shimano claims a 36% increase in performance compared to the previous generation of brakes.
