Bottom bracket Shimano Ultegra R8000 SM-BBR60 BSA & Italian Hollowtech II

Optimise the drivetrain of your road bike with the Shimano Ultegra SM-BBR60 bottom bracket, available in BSA (English) and Italian versions. Designed to deliver smooth rotation and excellent power transfer, this bottom bracket is a must-have for discerning cyclists seeking performance and reliability.

Part of the Ultegra range, it features Hollowtech II technology, ensuring stiffness, lightness and efficiency with every pedal stroke. Its high-quality bearings guarantee excellent durability, even under intensive use.

Easy to install thanks to its threaded system, the SM-BBR60 is particularly appreciated for its robustness and the absence of the creaking noises often associated with Press-Fit systems.

What is the difference between BSA and Italian?

The SM-BBR60 bottom bracket is available in two threading standards. It is essential to choose the correct one for your frame:

BSA standard (English)

• The most common on modern bikes
• Width: generally 68 mm (road)
• Thread:
  • Right-hand side (drivetrain) → reverse thread
  • Left-hand side → standard pitch
• Advantage: minimises loosening whilst pedalling

Italian standard

• Found on some high-end or older frames (often Italian)
• Width: 70 mm
• Thread: non-standard pitch on both sides
• Special feature: may require greater care when tightening

Before purchasing, always check your frame’s standard to ensure compatibility.
