Var washable touchscreen-compatible gloves for bicycle workshop work - AP-94302

The VAR AP-94302 workshop gloves are designed for bicycle mechanics, professional workshops and cyclists who carry out their own bicycle maintenance and repairs. Lightweight, flexible and breathable, they allow you to work with precision whilst protecting your hands from dirt and minor mechanical damage encountered during maintenance work.

The product code VAR AP-94302 corresponds to size L. These workshop gloves feature a seamless nylon construction, which is particularly comfortable for tasks requiring good sensitivity in the fingers. The palm features a polyurethane coating that improves grip and helps protect against cuts.

Another particularly practical advantage in the workshop is that the gloves can be used with a touchscreen, allowing you to consult a technical manual, a repair sheet, a smartphone or a tablet without having to take your gloves off every time.

Gloves specially designed for the bike workshop

Bicycle maintenance often requires a high degree of precision: adjusting a derailleur, fitting a chain, handling small screws, cleaning components or working on the brakes and drivetrain.

Gloves that are too thick can reduce finger sensitivity and make certain tasks more difficult. The VAR AP-94302, on the other hand, features a lightweight design intended to maintain good freedom of movement and excellent dexterity.

Their seamless nylon construction also contributes to comfort during long maintenance sessions. VAR recommends them specifically for mechanical and cleaning tasks.

Good dexterity for precision work

The 18-gauge thickness ensures a particularly fine design. The benefit is that it maintains a good sense of touch for small components whilst protecting the hands.

These gloves are therefore particularly well-suited to tasks such as:

• derailleur adjustment;
• fitting and removing components;
• drivetrain maintenance;
• cleaning the bike;
• handling workshop tools;
• replacing cables and cable housings;
• adjusting brakes;
• fitting accessories;
• routine maintenance.

For tasks requiring a high degree of tactile sensitivity, their thinness is a real advantage.

Polyurethane coating on the palm

The palms of the VAR AP-94302 gloves feature a polyurethane coating.

This coating improves grip and ensures a firm hold on tools and mechanical parts. It also helps protect against cuts, which is particularly useful when handling metal parts or components with sharp edges.

The coating remains thin enough to maintain the precision required for bicycle mechanics work.

Touchscreen-compatible gloves

One of the particularly practical features of these gloves is their compatibility with touchscreens.

In the workshop, it is common to need to consult a manual, look up a tightening torque, watch an assembly tutorial or use a diagnostic app. Being able to use a smartphone or tablet without taking off your gloves allows you to work more quickly and avoids unnecessarily smudging the screen.

VAR explicitly states that these gloves can be used with a touchscreen.

Breathability and comfort

The AP-94302 features a seamless nylon lining advertised as breathable. This feature is particularly welcome in a heated workshop or during long mechanical tasks.

The lightweight design also helps to minimise the feeling of bulk compared to thicker work gloves.

They therefore offer a good balance between protection, comfort and precision.

Latex-free

The VAR AP-94302 gloves are latex-free. This feature may be of interest to users wishing to avoid gloves containing latex.

However, the design is still primarily intended for mechanical work and routine maintenance.

Washable and reusable

The gloves can be washed and reused. The VAR catalogue recommends machine washing at 30 °C.

After a particularly messy maintenance session, this means the gloves can be kept clean for subsequent jobs.

To ensure they last as long as possible, it is best to follow the manufacturer’s washing instructions.

Mechanical protection 2110X

The VAR AP-94302 gloves are CE-certified with a mechanical resistance rating of 2110X.

This classification corresponds to performance levels in various mechanical tests. However, the marking does not mean that the glove protects against all risks present in a workshop.

It is therefore still necessary to use protection suited to each specific task.

Important: VAR specifically recommends testing the glove’s compatibility with the chemicals used beforehand. These gloves must not be regarded as universal protection against solvents, degreasers or other chemicals.
