The 700x25 tyre (ETRTO 25-622) is a classic road bike size: 700 is the wheel diameter (622 mm at the bead seat) and 25 the tyre width in millimetres. More comfortable and grippier than a 700x23 while staying light and lively, it's a great choice for racing, sportives and training.
700x25 or 700x28?
A 25 mm tyre suits road frames with tight clearance and rims with a 15 to 19 mm internal width. A 28 mm tyre adds comfort and lets you run lower pressures, if your frame has room. On a wide rim, a 25 mm tyre measures about 1 to 2 mm wider once inflated.
How to choose
- Tube-type: with an inner tube, easy to fit.
- Tubeless ready (TLR): with sealant, fewer punctures and lower pressures.
- Tubular: for tubular wheels.
Pressure guide: 6 to 7.5 bar with a tube depending on rider weight, slightly less tubeless.
