Lightweight Meilenstein ART carbon road bike wheels

The Meilenstein ART wheels are the latest evolution of Lightweight’s legendary road wheels, the result of four years of intensive development. A true revolution in carbon engineering, they introduce the patented Alpha Rib Technology (ART): an internal ribbed structure that enhances lateral stiffness, whilst reducing weight through a foam-free moulding process using a reusable material.

Their new rim, wider (22.9 mm internal width) and rounded, optimised via CFD and tested in a wind tunnel, significantly improves stability in crosswinds. Each wheel incorporates over 500 metres of carbon fibre and 70 preforms cut to size for an ultra-precise layup. The carbon spokes are bonded directly into the internal structure for maximum tension and enhanced durability.

Fitted with the new Penta-Fly hub and an exclusive measurement system called the Aero Mass Index (AMI = drag at 45 km/h × weight), the Meilenstein ART offers 20% better aerodynamic performance than the Meilenstein EVO, outperforming nine competing pairs tested. Designed for the most demanding cyclists, they combine stiffness, lightness and aerodynamics in a format optimised for tyres of 28 mm and above.

Usage advice:

- Warranty: 5 years (with product registration)
- Recommended pressure: Follow the instructions for the fitted tyres (optimal compatibility with tyres 28 mm and wider).
- Tyre fitment: Tubeless ready or inner-tube tyres. Tubeless fitment recommended to fully benefit from the lightness and comfort.
- Maintenance:
- Clean the rims with a soft, damp cloth, without using harsh solvents.
- Regularly check the condition of the bearings and the freehub body.
- In the event of a major impact, contact Lightweight’s technical support (carbon structure cannot be repaired using conventional methods).
- Transport: Always use the protective covers provided to prevent micro-cracks during transport.
- Maximum system weight: 120 kg (cyclist + bike + equipment).
