Shimano offers EF500 series mountain bike components designed for 7-speed drivetrains. The advantage of this ST-EF500 right-hand lever is that it integrates both the rear derailleur gear shift control and the mechanical brake lever. This economical gear and brake lever unit is equipped with a gear display and lever reach adjustment. The unit can be used with V-brakes, mechanical disc brakes or cantilever brakes. The brake cable can be easily adjusted from the handlebars.
