Expert wheels
Zipp continues to lead the way in innovation. The new Zipp 303 Firecrest is lighter, featuring a new ZR1 hub with 66 engagement points and a gear reduction, bringing the weight down to 1352 grams. This is a remarkable achievement for a clincher wheel with disc brakes. This new wheel is designed to be efficient and fast, and is suited to all terrains. Indeed, it was developed in the laboratory but, above all, in the field. Whether riding into the wind, on a smooth road or a rough one, the aim is to have the best-performing wheel. It must excel in terms of efficiency but also in comfort. And this is where the Zipp 303 Firecrest really shines. With the correct tyre pressure, the wheel and tyre combination acts as a shock absorber.
It is in its dimensions that this wheel is completely new. Its internal width of 25mm (and 32mm externally) allows for a tyre of at least 28mm. The rim is more curved to improve aerodynamics as well as comfort. The new ZR1 hub is designed in Germany and features a 66-point engagement for a quicker response after a freewheel phase.
If there’s one figure that will convince you to fit this new Zipp 303 Firecrest disc brake wheel, it’s its weight. 1,352 grams on the scales! As we always say, Zipp remains the benchmark!
