Shimano genuine spare part for Dura-Ace Di2 11-speed rear derailleur

The Shimano Y5ZV98010 support axle unit is a genuine spare part designed for the standard version of the Dura-Ace Di2 RD-R9150 rear derailleur ( Shimano ). It connects and secures the derailleur to the derailleur hanger on the frame. Shimano officially refers to it as the ‘Bracket Axle Unit (for normal type)’.

This part number is particularly useful for refurbishing an 11-speed RD-R9150-SS without replacing the entire derailleur. The unit is available as a standalone repair part from Shimano.

An essential component for securing the derailleur

The Y5ZV98010 unit is located at the point where the rear derailleur connects to the derailleur hanger on the frame. It is therefore essential that it remains in good condition to ensure a secure fit and correct positioning of the derailleur.

A damaged, warped or excessively loose part may disrupt the derailleur’s positioning relative to the cassette and impair the quality of gear changes.

Shimano This part is specifically identified as the ‘Bracket Axle Unit’ in the official exploded view of the RD-R9150.

Compatible with the Dura-Ace Di2 RD-R9150 Shimano

Part number Y5ZV98010 is specifically associated with the RD-R9150, a Dura-Ace Di2 11-speed electronic rear derailleur. The Shimano parts catalogues list the RD-R9150 as a compatible model.

It is therefore recommended that you check the part number on your derailleur before placing an order.

Please note the mounting type

The term ‘standard type’ is important.

The RD-R9150 can also be fitted using a Direct Mount system. In this configuration, Shimano uses a different part, part number Y5ZR69000 – B-Axle 2.

So do not confuse:

• Y5ZV98010: support axle unit for standard mounting;
• Y5ZR69000: B-2 axle for Direct Mount installation.

A cost-effective solution for repairing an RD-R9150

Replacing this small part means you don’t have to replace the entire derailleur when the problem is limited to the axle or the bracket.

This is particularly relevant for a Dura-Ace Di2 R9150 groupset, as it is worth keeping the components if they are otherwise in good condition.

Before replacement, it is advisable to also check the derailleur hanger on the frame. A bent or damaged hanger can cause misalignment and will not be corrected by replacing the axle unit.
