Since the introduction of clipless pedals over 40 years ago, cycling had not seen any real innovation in the field of pedals. With this PW8 system, which features a revolutionary pedal/shoe design, your pedalling will be more efficient, lighter, more aerodynamic and more stylish. Developed over more than four years and used by the professional riders of the Nice Métropole Côte d’Azur team, these shoes provide a contact point that is 8 mm lower. Thanks to a contact point as close as possible to the axle, power transfer is immediate. The contact surface is also larger (1500 mm² compared to 705 mm² for more conventional pedals) to provide optimum stability and excellent efficiency.
These pedals offer 5 angular settings (0°, 1.5°, 3°, 6°, 9°), allowing each cyclist to maintain the best pedalling alignment for improved performance and comfort. The pedal and cleat set weighs 225 grams in total, making it one of the lightest systems on the market. This version features a Chromoly axle, designed to be strong and high-performing.

How to position the front cleat? Identify the position of your metatarsal (big toe joint). Stick a piece of tape to the inside of the shoe, at the position of the first metatarsal. Make a small mark with a pencil on the tape to indicate this position. Transfer this mark to the sole of the shoe. Locate the corresponding number on the sole. Position the front cleat by aligning its markings with the same number. Tighten the cleat to the recommended torque: 3 Nm.
- Are the PW8 pedals/shoes compatible with a power meter?
Yes, the system is compatible with all power metre cranksets on the market (Shimano, Sram)
- What types of cycling can the PW8 pedals/shoes be used for?
For road cycling and triathlon.
- Is the model approved by the UCI?
Yes, the PW8s have been used in UCI races by riders from the Nice Métropole Côte d’Azur team since February 2025.
- Is it possible to adjust the pedal tension?
The tension is set by the spring located at the pedal’s release mechanism. This spring has been optimally calibrated; it is firm enough to prevent accidental unclipping, whilst allowing for easy and controlled unclipping.
- Can I use the same shoe covers as I have on my regular shoes?
No, due to the specific positioning of the PW8 cleats, some standard shoe covers may not be suitable.
- Are there any shims available if I need a different height between my left and right legs?
Compensation can be achieved using insoles of different thicknesses.
- Do I need to adjust the saddle height with the PW8 system?
To compensate for being closer to the pedal axle, we recommend lowering the saddle height by approximately 5 mm. Adjust as required based on how it feels.
