Revolutionary shoe/pedal design

Since the introduction of clipless pedals over 40 years ago, cycling had not seen any real innovation in the field of pedals. With this PW8 system, which features a revolutionary pedal/shoe design, your pedalling will be more efficient, lighter, more aerodynamic and more stylish. Developed over more than four years and used by the professional riders of the Nice Métropole Côte d’Azur team, these shoes provide a contact point 8 mm lower than conventional models. Thanks to a contact point as close as possible to the axle, power transfer is immediate. The enlarged contact area (1500 mm² compared to 705 mm² for more conventional pedals) offers optimal stability and excellent efficiency. All of this means your pedalling will be more efficient, thanks to a smoother motion, an earlier pull-through phase and a reduction in dead spot.
As for the shoes, they feature a snug, foot-hugging upper made from durable genuine leather for maximum support and a snug, sock-like fit. Highly breathable thanks to its open-cell PU foam and strategic perforations at the front, they feature precise and quick lacing via the BOA Fit System Dual-Dial Li2. The Ortholite Bi-Density insole provides excellent arch and heel support, whilst the Meta pad promotes venous return whilst cycling to minimise discomfort. Complemented by a Lycra mesh underfoot and durable thermo-compressed TPU studs, this shoe is ideal for combining a secure fit, long-lasting comfort and efficiency on the bike.

How do you position the front cleat? Identify the position of your metatarsal (big toe joint). Stick a piece of tape to the inside of the shoe, at the location of the first metatarsal. Make a small mark with a pencil on the tape to indicate this position. Transfer this mark to the insole of the shoe. Locate the corresponding graduation mark on the insole. Position the forefoot insert by aligning its markings with the same graduation mark. Tighten the insert to the recommended torque: 3 Nm.
- Are the PW8 pedals/shoes compatible with a power meter?
Yes, the system is compatible with all power metre cranksets on the market (Shimano, Sram)
- What types of cycling can the PW8 pedals/shoes be used for?
For road cycling and triathlon.
- Is the model approved by the UCI?
Yes, the PW8s have been used in UCI races by riders from the Nice Métropole Côte d’Azur team since February 2025.
- Is it possible to adjust the pedal tension?
The tension is set by the spring located at the pedal’s release mechanism. This spring has been optimally calibrated; it is firm enough to prevent accidental unclipping, whilst allowing for easy and controlled unclipping.
- Can I use the same shoe covers as I have on my regular shoes?
No, due to the specific positioning of the PW8 cleats, some standard shoe covers may not be suitable.
- Are there any height-adjustment cleats available if I need a different height between my left and right legs?
Compensation can be achieved using insoles of different thicknesses.
- Do I need to adjust the saddle height with the PW8 system?
To compensate for being closer to the pedal axle, we recommend lowering the saddle height by approximately 5 mm. Adjust as required based on how it feels.
