The first in the new generation of Garmin X40 GPS bike computers, the Edge 1040 incorporates new performance management features such as daily training suggestions and real-time endurance levels. The Garmin Edge 1040 will also help you manage your effort by suggesting power targets throughout your ride.

To follow your imported or device-generated routes and enjoy advanced navigation, you’ll appreciate the clear and responsive 3.5-inch colour touchscreen. The ClimbPro feature automatically displays the profile of the climbs on your route, the gradients and the distance to the summit.

With a battery life of 35 hours in normal use, the Garmin Edge 1040 is perfect for long rides or multi-day trips. You can expect up to 70 hours of battery life in power-saving mode.

ANT+, Bluetooth and Wi-Fi connectivity ensure the device is highly compatible with all types of sensors and smartphone models. At the rear, the quarter-turn mount has been reinforced with aluminium construction to ensure greater durability, whether on the road or off-road.

What a change compared to my Garmin 530! The readability is 2x larger, the training data is more numerous and I find the GPS data more accurate. Very happy with this purchase. (Translated review)

Having an Edge 830 I didn't see the point of switching to the 1040 until I had it in hand. Large screen facilitating reading and taking into account IQ screens such as SPHGraph or display during a home trainer session, interesting Stamina function, power guide not yet tested but on paper it looks interesting. This GPS is designed to be configured either directly, with a smartphone, or with a PC/Mac, so for all tastes. However, some settings are only possible on the GPS or Garmin Express on PC/Mac. A simplification effort in use is to be noted compared to the Edge 830. (Translated review)
