The Shimano FC-R8100 chainring is exclusively compatible with the Ultegra 12-speed crankset of the same brand.
Available in only two versions with 34 or 36 teeth, Shimano has developed its cranksets while maintaining the logic of chainring pairs. For example, the 34-tooth chainring is only compatible with the large 50-tooth chainring and not the 52-tooth chainring. The same applies to the 36-tooth chainring, which must be paired with the 52-tooth chainring.
Shimano 12-speed cranksets are compatible with 11-speed drivetrains.
