Notre avis

Denis M.

A former racer with a keen eye for equipment

With the STANDARD range, Galfer offers brake pads specifically designed for universal use (across all cycling disciplines), delivering balanced braking performance. They are aimed at amateur cyclists, from occasional to regular riders, seeking the right balance between braking power, noise and durability. The asbestos-free semi-metallic organic compound ensures progressive and consistent braking.

The compound developed by Galfer minimises wheel vibration for better braking control. It also reduces wear on the brake discs to optimise the service life of the components. These improvements allow the user to enjoy consistent braking performance, with the same behaviour throughout the pads’ lifespan, increasing the cyclist’s confidence and safety.

Pads acquired to be in phase with my Galfer discs. A disastrous idea... Braking is not that effective and especially a lot of noise from the 3rd or 4th ride. I recently went back to Shimano resin pads, and calm and efficiency have returned. Online sites often do not specify what is compatible or not with such discs or pads, which is very unfortunate...

Correct for a limited budget. If you can afford to spend a little more, it's better to go for the blue ones or even switch to another brand.

Metallic pads, better option than resin ones as they last much longer and braking is very similar.
