Shimano RT-CL800 road and MTB brake disc with internal nut

The two main areas of improvement targeted for the Shimano RT-CL800 disc are maintaining braking performance whilst better controlling noise caused by heat build-up. Objectives achieved!

With exceptional, silent braking performance, the Shimano RT-CL800 disc ensures the highest level of safety in all conditions and on all road and mountain bike terrain.

Deformation issues resulting from excessive overheating have been virtually eliminated thanks to a new arm design and optimised ventilation of the braking zone.

The result is clear-cut, with improved braking performance and a level of quiet operation previously unattainable.

For road use, we recommend fitting 140mm discs at the front and rear for maximum weight savings and/or 160mm front and rear for optimal braking, or 160mm at the front and 140mm at the rear for a balance of lightness and efficiency.

For mountain bike use, the diameter depends on your setup and/or riding style.

This disc version comes with an internal-clamping Centerlock nut, using the same tool as for fitting a cassette.
