The Dura-Ace FD-R9100-F Shimano is a top-of-the-range front derailleur designed for 2x11-speed road drivetrains. Part of the Dura-Ace R9100 groupset, it represents the pinnacle of performance from Shimano ’s mechanical front derailleurs: ultra-lightweight, rigid and remarkably precise, it is designed for competitive cyclists and high-end road bike builds.
Its braze-on design allows for direct mounting onto the frame, ensuring optimum stiffness and highly precise adjustment. The mechanism’s structure has been re-engineered to improve torsional stiffness and make chainring shifting more direct and efficient, with a more ‘instantaneous’ feel at the lever.
The FD-R9100-F is compatible with Shimano 2x11-speed road drivetrains and chainrings up to 50–55 teeth. It offers a total capacity of 16 teeth and a chainline of 43.5 mm, perfectly suited to 11-speed Dura-Ace and Ultegra groupsets.
Weighing approximately 70 g, it is one of the lightest front derailleurs on the market, whilst maintaining excellent stiffness thanks to its optimised aluminium and composite construction.
No. It works perfectly with Shimano ’s 11-speed road groupsets, including Ultegra and Dura-Ace, provided that the overall compatibility of the build (shifters, crankset and chain) is maintained.
Yes, it is designed for double chainrings such as 50/34 or 52/36, which are very common on modern road bikes.
The FD-R9100-F is lighter, stiffer and offers a cleaner, faster chainring changeover, with less flex and greater precision under load.
Yes, it is designed for modern road frames, including current geometries with disc brakes and wider tyres.
No. Shimano has incorporated a tension adjustment system directly onto the derailleur, making installation and indexing easier.

I changed my Dura Ace derailleur for the new model because with the old one it rubbed when the chain was on the 3 small sprockets. Since this change, no more friction, a delight this silence and fluidity! (Translated review)
The must-have (Translated review)
The top at Shimano with a smooth big/small chainring transition. Still remains the problem of the cable end that Shimano doesn't know where to place... (Translated review)
Very nice material, only "hic" no cable assembly instructions; referred to the Shimano site without further success. A bike technician pointed me to a tutorial BUT in English. Not easy for understanding. To date not yet installed. (Translated review)
Bought as a replacement for an identical model, which got stuck after about 10,000 kms. I was used to longer lifespans on the older series. (Translated review)
Aesthetic, speed, precision, I recommend this product (Translated review)
Product of very high quality. Ease of changing the chainring and fluidity. There remains the problem of the cable end. If you cut the cable a bit short and need adjustments, you may have difficulties getting everything back in working order. If you cut it a bit long, it becomes cumbersome. (Translated review)
Adjustments are now easier and accessible to everyone. No need to adjust cable tension, a marker indicates the correct tension once and for all. (Translated review)
Original cable routing. Easy adjustment with instructions. Cable exit to the outside: too bad (Translated review)
Very precise and fast front derailleur during chainring changes. Easy adjustment thanks to the cable tension screw. (Translated review)
