Northwave Extreme X 2026 MTB shoes

The Northwave Extreme X has been developed to deliver maximum performance on gravel and off-road terrain, with a particular focus on power transfer, foot support and long-lasting comfort. Every component of the shoe is designed to meet the demands of the most dedicated riders, whether in competition or endurance riding.

The Hyperlight HT carbon sole has a stiffness rating of 15, guaranteeing exceptional power transfer. It features the PowerShape System, which provides targeted arch support, as well as High Tail technology, whose asymmetrical shape improves stability on the inner and outer heel. The result: more efficient pedalling and better control during technical sections.

The upper features an Underlap construction, ensuring a uniform fit around the foot without pressure points. Cleverly integrated laser cut-outs, combined with large ventilation panels, ensure excellent breathability and optimal temperature regulation. Support is enhanced by the lighter and more precise Anatomic Reticular Support (ARS) 3.0 system, which stabilises the foot with every pedal stroke.

Closure is provided by the dual X-Dial SLW3 system, offering ultra-precise micrometric adjustment across two distinct zones. The EVA insoles, available in two thicknesses (3 mm and 5 mm), allow for a perfectly personalised fit to suit the shape of the foot. Finally, the replaceable TPU heel pads and cleats extend the shoe’s lifespan whilst ensuring excellent grip.
