The new internal rim width optimises compatibility with 28 mm tyres, ensuring a perfect balance between aerodynamic penetration, low rolling resistance and long-distance comfort. This modernised geometry maximises road performance whilst maintaining stability and efficiency, even in the most demanding conditions.

The Speed 42 is constructed using a new blend of high-modulus FF100 unidirectional carbon fibres, carefully developed by Fulcrum. This unique formulation, combined with precise fibre placement and rigorous resin control, results in a rim that is rigid, lightweight and perfectly responsive. The dynamic behaviour falls within the optimal elasticity range, offering a precise, responsive and fluid riding sensation.

Added to this is a series of proprietary technologies that further enhance overall performance: 2-Way Fit™ for compatibility with tubeless and conventional tyres, USB™ (Ultra Smooth Bearings) for exceptionally smooth ceramic bearings, 2:1 Two-to-One™ for balanced spoke lacing, DRSC™ for optimised directional connection between the rim and the spokes, and MoMag™ for a rim with no internal drilling, offering greater stiffness and durability.

The low-flange aluminium hubs are based on the Cup & Cone system with adjustable bearings, ensuring longevity, smoothness and ease of maintenance. The whole assembly is based on the AFS™ axle, a reliable standard for disc brakes.
