Disappointed by the new PerfLine from Bontrager/Trek, which disintegrates after 3 weeks..., here I am off in search of a sober, black, satin tape, without perforations, and without apparent branding... The original Guidoline from Velox, the one that gave its name to the handlebar tape, is the only one that meets these criteria... Here, no logo repeated every turn of the tape, no perforation, a slightly grained leather look, and an elegant satin black. When applying, the tape withstands tension and the adhesive strip sticks! We'll overlook the plastic caps with a chrome look, not very elegant, and the finishing strips, too shiny and too wide. The Velox finishing tape does a better job. As for the caps, the Trek ones have been recycled. And all this for a reasonable price... Much more reasonable than the Fizik, Deda, and Supacaz, which I also like a lot, but which cost double. We'll see over time if the tape holds up, but it gives an impression of reassuring solidity for now. (Translated review)
