Shimano offers the new 105 BR-R7170 caliper with a flat mount system. There are many improvements, such as compactness and lightness compared to the previous generation.
The R7170 brake caliper offers better pad clearance, which makes it easier to remove and install wheels, provides quieter braking performance and makes one-way bleeding much easier for quick and clean maintenance.
The 12-speed generation calipers are also compatible with 11-speed. It is therefore possible to mount this caliper with 105, Ultegra or Dura Ace 11-speed levers to improve braking at a lower cost.Supplied with adjustment plates for compatibility with 140 or 160 mm discs.
