Our advice

How can you improve your braking? By choosing the Shimano Tiagra BR-4700 rear brake. Double pivot, specific R50T5 brake pads and compatibility with 28mm tyres.

Antoine B.

Technology specialist

This caliper is simply the descendant of the Shimano 105 5800 version. It features a double pivot for exemplary power. It is even more effective in the rain or in extreme conditions. The brake pads are adjustable and can be adapted to rim widths from 19 to 26 mm. This caliper can easily accommodate tyre widths of up to 28 mm. Compared to the previous version, you get a 30% improvement in braking progressiveness and linearity. A benchmark.

In replacement of promax brake, just go with a Michelin lithion tire in 700x25C. Very satisfied with the braking

The front and rear brakes are good but it should indicate the length of the pads holding the shoes, because depending on the rims you need small or large pads for adjusting the shoes. So be careful before ordering
