Transport spacer for Shimano BR-M985 Y8J709000 disc brake pads

Shimano offers the Y8J709000 spacer, which is compatible with all disc brake calipers in its range. It is designed to fill the gap left by the disc during handling and transport without wheels. It is strongly recommended that you use the Shimano Y8J709000 spacer to prevent the pads from sticking without the disc in place. It is possible that the brake lever could be accidentally activated during transport without the wheel being mounted. Due to the pressure, the pistons are activated and go beyond the operating adjustment limit, causing the pads to stick together. In this case, the only solution is to separate them using a thin tool, but this often damages the pads and may require replacement.
