This tool is perfect but the manufacturer is mocking the world by selling it so expensively. That said, the vise must be well tightened on its base if it is rotating. You absolutely need to heat the hub. A hairdryer on the hottest setting is enough. Aluminum heats up faster than steel, so you will need strength but not that of Hercules. I give 5 for the tool and 2 for the price. (Translated review)
DTSwiss could have made it simpler... Had to order the real DT tool to change a bearing for a few euros... Materiel-velo.com offers this original DT Swiss tool, a bit expensive for the number of uses we make of it. But at least it's perfect! Thank you. (Translated review)
Good service from materiel-velo.com for this order. This original DT Swiss tool is quite expensive for the number of uses we get out of it. I think the price is justified by a quality small series manufacturing in hardened steel. I had tried a copy bought from a well-known Chinese sales site, but I wasted my time. The torque needed to loosen the ratchet crown requires incredible torque: we were 2 people on the wheel with the tool in the vise to achieve this. I admit I prayed that everything wouldn't explode in our faces like it did with the Chinese tool. So you will need a very robust vise well fixed on a heavy workbench. (Translated review)
Essential tool for maintaining DT 370 hubs. Unfortunately, it costs way too much for what it is and the few times you use it. (Translated review)
