Shimano offers a set of road brake pads that deliver long-lasting performance and consistent braking power thanks to their cooling fins. Heat build-up is minimised, resulting in more effective braking during long descents. The L05A-RF pads are compatible with Shimano 11- and 12-speed road and gravel disc brake calipers such as the 105, Ultegra, Dura-Ace and GRX.
We recommend a brief bedding-in process before your first ride to ensure the best performance and longevity of the pads. This involves spinning the wheel freely and stopping it by braking gradually. Repeat this process about ten times. Running-in also prevents the organic material from glazing over, which can occur during the first heavy braking sessions without running-in.
Shimano L05A-RF pads are sold in pairs and must be fitted in the correct orientation. To do this, the side is indicated on the back of the pad: "R" for right and "L" for left.
Sold in pairs with the spring. One pair corresponds to one caliper. If you wish to replace the pads on both brakes of your bike, you must order 2x the quantity.

The pads are compatible with Shimano resin-type disc brakes, used on road bikes. Always check your caliper model before purchasing.
The L05A pads are designed for powerful and quiet braking, using a high-performance resin, ideal for wet or muddy conditions. They differ from metal models (ICE or metal) which offer longer durability but produce more noise and offer less modulation.
Replace the pads when:
The pad thickness is less than 1 mm.
You hear a constant squeaking noise or notice a loss of braking power.
Vibrations occur when braking.
Yes. Thanks to their high-quality resin formulation, they offer quiet and progressive braking, even in wet conditions.
Yes. These pads are designed for reliable performance in all weather conditions, offering stable braking on muddy or wet terrain.
Remove the old pads from the caliper.
Insert the new L05A pads into the caliper mount.
Ensure the disc is properly centred in the caliper.
Tighten and test the brake before use.
No special tools are required, but always follow the Shimano manual for your specific model.
No, they are only compatible with Shimano resin brakes. For metal brakes, use the specific Shimano L04C metal pads.
Powerful and progressive braking.
Quiet and comfortable to use.
Excellent performance in all weather conditions.
Quick and easy installation.
Service life varies depending on riding style and conditions: approximately 1,500 to 5,000 km for mixed use, but may be reduced on very muddy terrain or with intensive mountain use.
