The Dura-Ace Di2 ST-R9170-R right-hand shifter ( Shimano , part number ISTR9170R) is a top-of-the-range dual-shift lever designed for road bikes fitted with an 11-speed Di2 electronic drivetrain (Shimano ) and hydraulic disc brakes. It combines the precision of Di2 electronic gear-shifting with hydraulic braking control in a compact and ergonomic design.
Designed for competition and high-performance riding, the ST-R9170-R features carefully crafted ergonomics and optimised button positioning to facilitate gear changes whilst maintaining a comfortable grip. The shifter also incorporates adjustment for the brake lever reach.
Its CFRP body and carbon lever help to keep the weight down. Shimano states an average weight of just 160 g for the right-hand shifter. It features two E-Tube SD50 ports and can be configured and updated via E-TUBE PROJECT.
The ST-R9170-R is specifically designed for a hydraulic disc brake system. It uses a hose with a straight connector and operates with Shimano mineral oil. The reach adjustment allows the lever position to be tailored to the rider’s preferences.
Please note: this part number is for a right-hand lever only. It must not be confused with the ST-R9170-L, which is for the left-hand side.
