The Sora R3000 ESLR3000LB left-hand shifter ( Shimano ) is a gear shifter designed for bikes fitted with flat handlebars and a 2x9-speed double-chainring drivetrain . Part of the Sora R3000 ‘ Shimano ’ range, it utilises Rapidfire Plus technology to deliver fast, smooth and precise gear changes.

Positioned on the left-hand side of the handlebars, this shifter controls the front derailleur and allows you to switch between chainrings. It is a particularly good choice for flat-bar road bikes, fitness bikes, sporty hybrid bikes or bikes retrofitted with a Shimano Sora 2x9 drivetrain.

A control system designed for double chainrings

The left-hand SL-R3000 is specifically designed to manage the two positions of the front derailleur. It must therefore be used with a compatible double-chainring drivetrain.

The principle is simple: the left-hand shifter allows you to select the small or large chainring, whilst the right-hand shifter controls the 9 sprockets on the cassette. Together, they form a drivetrain with a theoretical 18-speed range (2x9).

This configuration is particularly suitable for cyclists looking for a versatile gear range, for both urban commuting and sport cycling.
