Shimano Direct Mount chainrings use a specific locking ring that requires a suitable tool to be removed or tightened correctly. The TL-FC41 allows you to carry out this operation without using a makeshift tool that could damage the ring.

Simply position the tool correctly on the locking ring, then use the appropriate supplementary tool to apply the required torque.
