Our opinion : regular maintenance of your freewheel is required every year

Mavic wheels must be serviced every year to ensure proper functioning. Mavic freewheels must be cleaned and lubricated exclusively with Mavic oil and no other. This oil is specially formulated to ensure adequate lubrication in all conditions of use and temperatures, and is suitable for the FTS/FTSL/FTSX/ITS4 system. This operation must be carried out at least once a year, or more often in extreme off-road conditions.

Any change of freewheel body on a Mavic wheel requires lubrication with Mavic oil.
