Ravemen’s DuaLens technology: a dual optical system that generates both a non-dazzling dipped beam (for shared roads) and a long-range main beam. Inspired by car headlights, this design effectively illuminates the road without blinding oncoming cyclists, pedestrians and motorists. This technology, which is absent from most competitors’ products (Lezyne, Bontrager), makes Ravemen a particularly suitable choice for urban cycling and shared roads. The brand launched this innovation in 2016 and has refined it across its entire PR-series range.
The DuaLens system uses two separate LEDs with two distinct optics: one for the dipped beam (wide, short, cut-off at the top) and one for the main beam (narrow, long-range). In road mode (urban/everyday cycling), only the anti-glare dipped beam is active. In mountain biking or open countryside mode, the full high beam is available. A long press on the wired remote control temporarily activates the high beam to signal your presence in an emergency.
For road cycling and daily commutes: the CR1000 (1,000 lumens, T-beam, 4,000 mAh battery) or the PR800 (800 lumens, DuaLens, compact). The CR1000 offers up to 2 hours at full power and over 40 hours in flashing mode. The PR1200 (1,200 lumens) is more powerful for night-time rides in the countryside or mountains. All these models feature a wired remote control to change modes without letting go of the handlebars, and can be used as a USB power bank to charge a phone.
Most Ravemen models are IPX8-certified (submersion up to 1 m) or IPX7-certified, ensuring complete resistance to rain and splashes. This waterproofing, which exceeds the standard IPX4 rating (splashes), guarantees reliable performance in all weather conditions. The anodised aluminium casing also dissipates heat from the LEDs and protects the components from shocks and vibrations.
Yes, Ravemen is a Chinese brand founded in 2016, specialising exclusively in bicycle lighting with a strong focus on optical R&D. Despite its origins, the brand is recognised by cyclists and specialist testers for its build quality and innovative beam design. The anodised aluminium used for the housings, the meticulous finish and the overall robustness are regularly cited as being superior to many competitors in the same price range.
The standard Ravemen mount fits 25.4 and 31.8 mm handlebars using a non-slip silicone ring and a supplied Allen screw. For 22.2 mm MTB handlebars, the ABM01 accessory is available separately and recommended to ensure a secure fit. The AHM-01 accessory also allows the headlight to be mounted on a helmet (GoPro-compatible), which is useful for mountain biking. The 10° rotation to the right or left possible with the ABM01 allows you to precisely adjust the beam.
The PR1200 offers several modes with varying battery life: from 1.5 hours at 1,200 lumens up to several dozen hours in flashing mode.In medium mode (400–500 lumens), the runtime is approximately 4 to 6 hours, which is more than sufficient for most night-time outings. The built-in 5,200 mAh battery recharges via micro-USB (PR1200) or USB-C (recent models). An LED indicator displays the remaining battery level in real time on the light.
Yes, the TR range (TR50, TR300, TR500) offers compact and powerful rear lights with smart modes. The TR500 (500 lumens) features a smart brake sensor that automatically increases brightness when the cyclist slows down. The FR160 model is a compact daytime running light, visible in daylight, ideal for safety in town. Ravemen rear lights attach to round or aero seatposts (24 to 36 mm) via an adjustable silicone mount.
Yes: Ravemen’s PR and CR models feature a USB output port that allows you to charge a phone or GPS device, acting as a power bank. This ‘power bank’ function is activated when the light is connected to an external device and can transfer the energy stored in the internal battery. This is a practical advantage for competitive cyclists or bikepackers who want to minimise the number of accessories they carry.
Ravemen’s main advantage is the anti-glare DuaLens beam, which Lezyne lacks. Lezyne has the advantage of a more refined design and integration with the Lezyne Ally app. For night-time rides in town or on roads with traffic: Ravemen is the safest choice for other road users. For gravel or mountain bike rides alone in the countryside: both brands are comparable in terms of brightness and battery life. Ravemen generally offers better value for money than Lezyne for equivalent brightness.
