The Sram eTap group is a bestseller, there's no doubt about it. With use, it is sometimes necessary to adjust the indexing to ensure perfect gear shifting. This happens when you change wheels, between training sessions and when you switch to a higher-end pair for competition. This operation only takes a few moments. At this point, the high and low stops are considered to be correctly adjusted. The indexing adjustment is very simple. There are two possible scenarios. Either the rear derailleur is struggling to move up, or it is not moving down smoothly.|>

To adjust your Sram Red eTap rear derailleur the bike, you need to focus on the left lever and the control paddle.
In the first case, you will not get a clean shift. Press the button on the inside of the left control paddle (see photo). Then hold the button down for two to three seconds until the green LED lights up. Keep the button pressed and operate the control pad as if you were changing gear. The derailleur will move approximately 0.2 mm per pulse. Once the correct setting has been achieved, release the button inside the control paddle.|>

If you are unable to get your Sram eTap group to shift down smoothly, follow these steps.
On the right-hand control pad, hold down the button until the green LED lights up fully. Keeping the button pressed, operate the pad as if you were changing gear. The rear derailleur will move down in increments of 0.2 mm per pulse. When you have the correct setting, release the button. Your rear Sram eTap indexing is now adjusted.
All your gears should now shift correctly, both up and down. If the stops (high and low) are correctly adjusted during assembly, this operation only takes a few minutes. Finally, for the more experienced, it is possible to perform this manoeuvre while riding if the problem occurs.
