Set of 2 earpieces and microphones for VeloVox bicycle helmets

As traditional headphones are strongly discouraged when cycling amongst other road users, Lazer has decided to launch its VeloVox earpieces. This intercom system is not inserted into the ear canal but attaches to the helmet straps, so it does not block your ears, allowing you to remain aware of your surroundings and enhancing your safety. Fitting perfectly onto your helmet straps without interfering with your glasses, the Lazer VeloVox offers optimum comfort throughout your ride.

These earphones transmit sound through the air, meaning that even at high speeds, the wind will not drown out the sound of music or calls, thanks to noise-cancelling technology. With an IP54 rating, this audio system is resistant to splashes of water and dust. As well as listening to music and making calls, this Lazer VeloVox also allows you to communicate with a group of up to 30 cyclists. This system is easy to use as it can be connected to the system Shimano Di2, but also because you can use it with a single click to mute the sound, answer a call or change the track.

Works with the Cardo Connect app, the market leader in communications between motorcyclists.

The Velovox: a genuine tool for performance and support on a cyclosportive

The Velovox now represents a major step forward in the way cyclosportives are approached, for both riders and support teams. Thanks to instant audio communication, it enables essential information to be relayed in real time, without disrupting the rider’s effort or concentration.

More effective and responsive team support

During a cyclosportive, race conditions are constantly changing: pace, weather, the condition of the route, the composition of the groups, or mechanical issues. Velovox enables the support team to stay in touch with the rider throughout the event.

Assistants can forward the following immediately:

• the differences between groups,
• tactical instructions,
• details of the profile to follow,
• reminders about eating and drinking,
• or security alerts.

This real-time communication helps the runner to manage their effort more effectively, make the right decisions and stay focused on their performance.

The system also facilitates technical support. In the event of a mechanical problem, a drop in performance or a change in weather conditions, the support team can anticipate the rider’s needs and organise a swift, targeted response. This minimises time lost and improves the overall management of the race.

Better coordination between runners

Velovox isn’t just about providing support: it also improves communication between members of the same team or group.

Runners can:

• organise the relay points,
• adjust the pace,
• report an attack,
• to warn of a danger,
• wait for a team-mate in difficulty,
• or coordinate a collective strategy.

In situations where it is often difficult to speak – such as when cycling at high speeds, in windy conditions, on mountain passes or when tired – the Velovox ensures clear, smooth and safe communication.

This coordination strengthens team cohesion and helps to optimise collective performance.

A significant improvement in safety

Safety is another major advantage of the Velovox. Information can be transmitted instantly:

• obstacle on the road,
• gravel,
• slowdown,
• fall,
• vehicle,
• change of direction,
• or a hazardous area.

Cyclists stay informed without having to take their eyes off the road or change their position on the bike.

This foresight significantly reduces the risk of falling or reacting incorrectly at critical moments.

A more professional and immersive experience

Velovox brings the cyclosportive experience closer to the standards of professional cycling. Participants benefit from state-of-the-art support, strategic guidance and continuous communication throughout the race.

This provides:

• greater peace of mind,
• better tactical management,
• a sense of support,
• and a greater focus on competition.

The Velovox does not replace a cyclist’s physical abilities, but it does improve their ability to realise their full potential.

FAQ – Frequently Asked Questions

Is the Velovox only for elite cyclists ?

No. It can be used by experienced competitors as well as by amateurs who want to manage their ride better, improve their safety or cycle more efficiently in a group.

Yes. Even if you’re not aiming for a particular ranking, the Velovox offers real comfort:

• safety information,
• pacing,
• emotional support,

On the contrary. The Velovox means cyclists don’t have to turn round, shout or look for information. The messages are short, to the point and allow cyclists to keep their focus on the road.
