BioAltitude hypoxic simulation tent kit with generator

The BioAltitude simulation kit allows you to enjoy the benefits of altitude whilst staying at home. There is no longer any need to spend several weeks travelling, with all the inconvenience, expense and fatigue that entails. A hypoxic tent and its generator system will help you achieve your goal for the year (championship, Tour de France stage, Ironman, etc.) and/or reach peak fitness during the desired period.

The mountains at home

The principle behind a hypoxic tent is to replicate a desired altitude (up to 5,500m) by reducing the oxygen supply in the enclosed atmosphere. In practice, the most commonly used and effective protocol is to sleep in the tent at night and during naps, whilst training as usual around your home. This method is known as LHTL (Living High, Training Low). Many elite athletes have been using hypoxic tents for several years to achieve better results and enhance their performance. But that’s not all: sleeping in hypoxic conditions also promotes better recovery after and between competitions.

Numerous scientific studies have long highlighted the benefits of hypoxia for elite athletes. All professional cycling teams practise hypoxic training, either through training camps at specialised high-altitude centres or by setting up hypoxic tents at their team leaders’ homes.

Improved sporting performance

Training under a hypoxia protocol increases total haemoglobin mass. The reduction in oxygen forces the body to react by producing more red blood cells to increase its capacity to transport oxygen in the blood. More red blood cells = more energy available = greater endurance to sustain effort.

THE MATERIEL-VELO.COM CHOICE

MATERIEL-VELO has chosen to offer a complete, user-friendly and high-quality system. The BioAltitude tent provides passive exposure to hypoxic conditions. The kit includes a BioAltitude V100 generator, a self-supporting inflatable tent, a pulse oximeter and a Handi oxygen analyser to monitor the altitude inside the tent. The set is suitable both for overnight stays and for exercise on a home trainer.

How it works in detail:

The BioAltitude V100 generator simulates altitude by removing oxygen from the air, enabling conditions equivalent to 5,500 m to be achieved inside the tent.
The self-supporting inflatable tent has four transparent sides to facilitate monitoring of exercise or exposure, and two side doors to facilitate the installation of equipment inside.
The Check Me O2 oximeter, with its ring-shaped sensor, records O2 saturation, heart rate and movement. Compact and comfortable to use, a silent vibration alarm is triggered if your saturation falls below the pre-set threshold.
The Handi oxygen analyser allows for simple monitoring of hypoxia levels during passive exposure.
