The thru-axle is a wear part that needs replacing, especially if you handle your bike frequently. It is therefore always a sensible idea to have a spare axle. This version fits a mountain bike or road bike. The dimensions are 122.5mm for a 12mm axle (standard for a 100mm hub). The thread is M12/1.75 inches.
