With the Ekar crankset, Campagnolo started from scratch to design a model specifically suited to gravel riding, combining high-level performance with proven reliability. The single-chainring system offers greater simplicity with only the rear gears to manage, as well as mechanical advantages: no front derailleur, significantly reduced weight, fewer moving parts that collect dirt and can cause blockages, and high chain security.
The UD carbon fibre cranks feature AISI 630 steel half-axles with the new ProTech technology. This technology allows the two half-axles to be connected inside the bottom bracket shell using a single high-strength screw. Campagnolo offers four gear options, each associated with a type of riding to guide cyclists who are hesitating between two gear ratios: 38 (Adventure), 40 (Pure Gravel), 42 (Fast Gravel), 44 (eGravel). The chainring is made of lightweight and resistant 7075 aluminium. The UD carbon arms feature removable protective caps at the pedal attachment points to keep the components looking like new, whatever terrain you tackle.
