Our usage tips:
- Ideal for XC use
- We recommend this tyre for use on dry terrain and soft surfaces (woodland trails, roots, loose soil).
- Recommended for fitting on the rear wheel and paired with a Hutchinson Kraken 2.30 tyre on the front for maximum grip on descents and in corners.
Description:
Following a season of testing at international competitions, Hutchinson is now offering its Skeleton Racing Lab tyre to all mountain bikers. It has been developed to maximise performance on dry terrain and is therefore suitable for cross-country riding. Its very low weight (just 600 g) makes it ideal for climbing. Its tread pattern, featuring specific lateral grip, is the tyre’s key strength; the lug bases are reinforced to ensure excellent line-holding in corners, whilst the RR XC compound is flexible enough to grip even on slightly damp, banked sections. Performance is not overlooked either, with a firmer compound designed to offer a responsive feel when pedalling, whilst also providing ideal efficiency during emergency braking.
The Skeleton features a 127 TPI casing, ensuring lightness and flexibility, whilst allowing for a thin layer of rubber compound to deliver exceptional performance.
Ultimately, this tyre will propel you to the top of the mountains and provide all the grip you need to descend safely whilst enjoying the ride!

The tread blocks are harder for optimal power transfer, whilst the softer side blocks ensure better grip when cornering.
